Galapagos Island Hopping
Why Island Hop?
Although most tourists see the islands from boats and cruises, we service clients who wish to stay in hotels on the various islands and make day trips to the visitor sites. We are a small, locally-run business that caters to families and individuals who wish to have stress-free, all-inclusive visit to the islands without having to live aboard the cramped, sea-bound vessels that other companies provide. We can also offer the opportunity to create your own itinerary so that those looking for a more action-packed visit can find excitement in the enchanted islands.

We suggest Island Hopping for the following reasons:

Flexibility
Our trips can be tailored to suit a range of clients: families, adventure seekers, students and older travelers. Please let us know if you would like us to include any of the following activities in your itinerary:

    • Scuba Diving
    • Artisanal Fishing
    • Horse-back Riding
    • Trip to an Organic Farm
    • Conservation Talk at the Charles Darwin Research Station*

We also allow you the option of taking an afternoon or morning off to go to the beach or wander around the small communities if that suits you. We are open to your suggestions and we are determined to make your visit a success.

*This requires prior planning and a donation. Recommended for educational groups or visitors who wish to become donors.

Comfort
We offer a more practical option for visitors concerned with space, diet and privacy. On our trips you won’t have to worry about the following:

• Space: every couple, family or individual traveller will have their own spacious hotel room with all the expected amenities (single, double or triple occupancy).
• Cuisine: we offer a range of options from delicious local restaurants and we can cater to special dietary needs.
• Sea Sickness: our trips by boat are usually less than 3 hours in
comparison with days or weeks at sea on a cruise. We ensure that your boat trip is comfortable and safe.
• Quality Time: our itineraries allow you more time to spend with your friends and family, time that is usually spent on cruise logistics such as disembarking.

Reduces Our Ecological Footprint
Less fuel is used in the short trips we make between islands in comparison with the constant idling and motoring of the larger cruise ships. In addition, we lead small groups of visitors whereas some of the larger vessels carry hundreds of passengers. The impact of large groups of passengers undoubtedly has a negative effect on the ecosystems at the visitor sites. Our goal is to produce as little garbage, carbon emissions and direct impact as possible. We strive to inspire a conservationist attitude in our clients as we know that conscious eco-tourists are the only hope for preserving this remarkable archipelago.

Supports the Local Community
Sailing on a cruise ship in the Galapagos can be an exciting way to see the islands. However, not many people realize that the majority of the boats are owned by companies that are not based on the Galapagos or even in Ecuador. This has been a concern of the local community for years. Tourists who take a trip on a cruise often don’t realize that because they sleep, eat and spend the majority of the time on that boat, very few of their dollars ever reach the local community. We offer a different tour model in which visitors can enjoy a luxurious and educational visit to the Galapagos while supporting the local economy. Our company is determined to support the hotels and restaurants that sustain the villages in the archipelago. As well, our itineraries give you a chance to get to know the local communities, to understand the conservation challenges we face and to gain insight on the real Galapagos islands rarely seen from aboard a cruise.
